LVI and Global Victoria delivered a trade delegation to India, to explore and develop commercial opportunities for Victorian businesses working in the liveability sector. Participants in the delegation represented architectural services, water/environmental solutions and transport. The group commenced in Bangalore and then separated into individually tailored business matched programs and reconvened in New Delhi, to attend the India smart cities expo. The expo provided an opportunity to see how much technology is locally present, as well as the some of the international companies in market.

The mission was supported by Ms Michelle Wade, Victoria’s Commissioner to South Asia and the tailored business programs developed with the Victorian Trade and Investment Offices in Bangalore and Mumbai. The business mission has provided critical insight to the opportunities for Victorian companies in India, as well as market entry and expansion models.

Austrade supported the mission in New Delhi, with the delivery of a well-attended and targeted networking event of companies to meet the Victorian delegation. The mission has opened doors for the delegates to real projects, with post mission follow-up in the short term indicating each are engaged with ongoing positive discussions and/or responding to requests for proposals.
