Liveability Victoria International (LVI) has been delivering liveability services on behalf of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and the Victorian Government for the past four years. Highlights of LVI’s achievements include hosting 65 international delegations, co-sponsor and delivery of trade missions to Singapore, Vietnam, China and India, as well as supporting our local industry clusters, such as the establishment of the Victorian Cleantech Cluster.

LVI and its partners have built stronger clusters of business, research and government communities across the water, cleantech, and urban design sectors in Victoria and globally, and brought best practice liveability ideas back to Victoria.

After the scale of the recent bushfire season and in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, projects and programs were assessed in the context of these drivers. With the coronavirus impacting international engagement and changes to travel, the LVI program will be put into hibernation for the time being. Staff that have been working in LVI will return to their substantive roles or will be refocused onto the coronavirus response within DELWP.

DELWP is dedicated to its international commitments, including those under Victoria’s new China Strategy - Partnerships for Prosperity; Victoria’s India Strategy: Our Shared Future; Globally Connected: Victoria’s Southeast Asia Trade and Investment Strategy; and Globally Connected: Victoria’s Latin America Trade and Investment Strategy. These commitments will be managed through line responsibilities within the Department and we will continue to support the whole of Victorian Government approach to support their delivery.
